PWN Zug & Zurich - "Stammtisch" event on the topic of gender equality in the labour market of the canton of Zurich
We are back with our first PWN Zug & Zurich Stammtisch of the year: A networking opportunity with like-minded professionals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere – this time on the topic of gender equality.
We will welcome Valérie Müller and Luc Zobrist from the Economics Department of the Office of Economy and Labour. They will join us on 15 March 2023, 6 pm, to present their latest report on gender equality in the labour market of the canton of Zurich.
The report shows that women’s labour force participation rate has risen significantly in the past decades and that wages have even grown faster than men’s. However, there is still a significant wage gap, mainly between women with and without children.
Valérie and Luc will present various explanations of the wage gap, particularly in management positions and potential policy reforms. They will also explore what other countries have done to progress in reducing this inequality and discuss the concept of child penalties.
Join us to debate the progress and challenges faced in this area and how we can further drive a positive shift towards gender equality. We look forward to seeing you at Karl der Grosse to network with like-minded professionals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All genders are welcome!
