Gender Pay Gap: What Does It Mean to Me?
In 2017, the UK government introduced regulations that required companies to disclose their gender pay gaps. Many public reports alluded to plans intended to reduce the gap including mentoring and leadership development programmes. Yet six years on, the gap remains prevalent.
You might already have questions:
Indeed, there remains some confusion around what the gender pay gap is and isn’t. In addition, the focus on the gender pay gap has always been on what companies and governments are doing. There have been very few opportunities to discuss how the gender pay gap affects individuals, what it means in our day-to-day lives and careers, and how to navigate a world with a gender pay gap.
In this event, Lucy Iremonger, the Gender Pay Gap Lead for Mercer UKI, will walk through the basics of the gender pay gap. We will then explore the personal aspect of the gender pay gap with a diverse panel and a Q&A session. Whether you feel you are personally affected by the gender pay gap or an ally to those who are, this would be a unique opportunity to gain some clarity about this important topic, network with others in a similar boat and leave with practical actions.
