PWN Madrid: Her Majesty the Queen Letizia Backs Project M+50
In 2017, PWN Madrid was honoured to be present at an audience with Her Majesty the Queen Letizia, where they were able to discuss PWN Madrid's activity and social Impact. Imagine how doubly honoured they were to have a second audience with Doña Letizia in September 2018? PWN Madrid President, Raquel Cabezudo was able to present the evolution of the initiatives developed by the association since the last meeting. A particular concern of the Queen during the meeting in 2017 was the professional situation of women over 50 years. Because of this sensitivity, and the local market conditions, PWN Madrid saw a real gap in the market to support professional women over the age of 50, and created Project M +50.
"We have transformed her idea into a concrete project that includes the first Map of Solutions with more than 30 measures to boost the hiring and professional development of women over 50 years of age." explains the President of PWN Madrid. "Thanks to the support of the Women's General Office of the Community of Madrid and with the co-financing of the European Social Fund we have been able to work on the M +50 project where, in addition, a relevant group of companies and managers of the region where invited to several workshops and contributed with ideas for the benefit of this group."
During the audience, Her Majesty was very interested to know the details of this project, in addition to the initiatives that PWN Madrid has planned for next year to with regard to looking at gender equality from an early age. "We want to focus on the momentum of STEM careers among women as business leadership is increasingly directed at these types of organizations. To do this, we will approach to educational institutions and work collaboratively with companies that support us with the aim of creating links that boost our future competitiveness through the commitment to inclusive talent", says Cabezudo.
After the audience, the president of PWN Madrid expressed her desire that "the results of this project inspire, motivate and be a call to action for professional decision makers , companies and the different stakeholders involved. I encourage the organizations of our country to join our M +50 challenge to contribute to a better society with a greater gender balance ".
