PWN Milan: Own Your Career

In recent years, PWN Milan has launched a very successfull program: Own Your Career, a training course dedicated to young female students from the 5 main universities in Milan.

The first three editions (2017-19) of the program involved 110 young talents, and at the time of writing this article, our new cohort for 2020 includes no less than 80 talented and motivated students.

Own Your Career, PWN MilanSince its inception, the program has welcomed the involvement of 26 female role models from PWN Milan corporate partners, who have offered a total of 40 hours of training.

The 2020 edition of the program has taken shape with the active support of Astrazeneca, BCG, Crédit Agricole CIB, Google Italia, Oracle and Shiseido; in addition, we have returning support from Dell, Fastweb and Sanofi, who took part in the previous editions.

The aim of the program is to create a synergy between the university and the world of work, enhancing the transition from being a student to becoming a worker: a delicate moment where high expectations run in parallel with question marks and fears.

Through a series of meetings in the various participating companies, the students have the opportunity to gather inspirational ideas by:

  • listening to the professional and personal stories of female role models,
  • being stimulated for professional and personal growth with the participation in the mini workshops on soft skills conducted by PWN Milan trainers,
  • dealing with colleagues and enriching their network of professional relationships.

The program that has enjoyed growing success - a win-win scenario for the students and the companies who get involved. In addition to the direct benefits for the participants - who feel stronger and more determined in entering the working world - we can see the indirect effects to the communities in which the professionals (senior and junior) participate.

In particular, the young OYC talents who have entered the world of work are direct promoters of the experience gained thanks to the program and directly promote the participation of their organisations to PWN initiatives.
