PWN Romania: Virginia Otel, President

PRESIDENT OF THE QUARTER

"If definition of energy and passion would be exemplified by a person, that person definitely would be Virginia."  Just one of the wonderful comments that we received from our PWN Romania team when we asked them what makes Virginia Otel, their city network President, such a great leader. 

Currently the Deputy General Manager of Garanti Leasing and Communication Leader of Garanti Group Romania, Virginia has tirelessly dedicated her spare time to her community: A Board member of the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society (FDSC) since 2002; member of PWN Romania since its inception in 2011; and member of the Romanian Business Leaders Foundation since 2013.

Virgina became the President of PWN Romania in 2015 when she replaced Sorana Baciu, who is just starting her second mandate as PWN Global's VP Executive Balanced Boards. 

The Romanian network is small and perfectly formed with a group of very senior professionals that are really raising awareness and shifting the needle on gender balanced leadership in Romania.

Most recently, Virginia hosted the PWN Global Board and City Networks from around the world in a three day workshop that gave us space to discuss our Engaging Men and Executive Balanced Boards development strategies both internally, and externally thanks to the high profile organisations that Virginia invited to join us.

Not only did Virginia pull together an exceptional professional event, she make every effort to create a detailed social agenda that gave us exposure to all of the amazing sights and sounds on offer in her home town of Bucharest.

When I approached Virginia's team to ask, 'What makes Virginia such a great leader?' - here's what they said:
