PWN Global Newsletter Q1 2021
Dear PWN
friends,
Here we are at the start of a new year, after
what can only be described as one of the most challenging years, for
all of us, in recent history. We have all been touched by the impact
of the Covid-19 pandemic. It started at the beginning of the year in
one part of the world, and now, almost 12 months later, according to
the World Health Organisation, it has been responsible for the deaths
of over 1.6M people worldwide, and affected the lives of so many
families.
I’m sure that you, or someone you know has
experienced the full impact of this unusual year?
In the last ten months, we all have been
challenged. Working from home, not able to visit family and friends or
go out to enjoy our social life, has put us all to the test. We had to
find new ways to connect, relax and de-stress. Missing our loved ones,
especially on special occasions, was painful. It’s evident that we
are all stretched on different levels. As Rebecca Fountain, PWN
Global’s Head of Marketing and Communication put it, so nicely
“The pandemic amplified the amount of pressure and stress we
endure under ‘normal’ circumstances.” And it does.
Looking forward, we know that we are not out of
the woods yet. Although there seems to be light at the end of the
tunnel, we know that our patience and flexibility will continue to be
tested in the forthcoming months.
In 2021 we intend to support you all in any way
we can. Our mission to keep the spotlight on equality in
gender-balanced leadership will continue through our Virtual
Entrepreneurship Program, our Mentoring programs and the many great
activities from all the City Networks. Next to all of this, we will
continue to facilitate a series of Diversity Labs for our Corporate
Partners. The
next one is scheduled for March 2021, as a follow up from the last
well-received Diversity Lab in October 2020: “Driving your
Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Agenda in 2021- Good for Women, Good
for Men, Good for Business”.
PWN’s platform has proven itself for new and
existing members alike, as a way to keep in touch with your network,
meet new people, discuss challenges and learn new skills and gain new
insights. We will continue to facilitate that for you, also in
2021.
We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and
healthy. If you are enduring the effects of the virus, we send you
strength and hope to persevere. Together we look forward to better
times and a safe world. Please connect with us; we like to hear from
you.
Enjoy this edition and please remember to forward
it to your friends and colleagues who you think will enjoy it
too.
Please stay safe, stay well and stay
connected.
Best regards!
