PWN Global Newsletter Q2 2021
Dear PWN
friends,
Spring is a reminder of renewal and rejuvenation,
a season of hope. Now more than ever, l believe we need renewal and
hope. With vaccines to protect against COVID-19 now becoming available
throughout many parts of the world, although progress is slow in many
parts, we are wondering what the workplace will look like in the
emerging reset economy.
Will the “she-cession” in which more women
than men have lost jobs subside, and how will we address the
underlying issues facing women where they have had to curtail careers
in order to facilitate caring responsibilities. There is no doubt
that the future of work, and life, has been revolutionised by the
challenges we have experienced in the last year. The important
questions to ask are: How is it evolving, and how are we all
responding to it? These were very much the questions that were raised
at our recent Diversity Lab which we held in the end of March, where
senior leaders across multiple industries came together to discuss
these questions and share, learn and connect together. One key take
away was to see this as ‘The Great Learning’. What can we learn
about ourselves as a society and how can we future proof gender
equality going forward.
Another source of hope and inspiration was drawn
from our recent PWN Summit, held International Women's Day (8th
March), celebrating inspirational women around the globe. We had 13
Speakers, 20 PWN organising teams, 38 countries with 90 nationalities
involved and over 1200 + registrants to mark International Women’s
Day 2021. Over the course of the event, we enjoyed fireside chats,
keynote speakers, video messages, music and celebration from
world-renowned thought leaders. Our community came together. We
recognised and experienced the sheer potency of inspiration, and its
potential impact on everything we do, offering us energy to keep
going. We are stronger together. Read
the full article from a volunteer's perspective and key
takeaways from the event.
If you are not already a member or have let your
membership lapse, please do
take time to join us - keeping connected to a support
community is more important than ever.
Enjoy this edition and please remember to forward
it to your friends and colleagues who you think will enjoy it too,
keep the inspiration and hope flowing.
Please stay safe, stay well and stay
connected.
Best regards!
