More than one decade into her career, she continues to advocate for equal opportunities in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Maria Lien

I’m Maria, and I’d describe myself as someone who thrives on collaboration, sweets, and new beginnings. Born in Estonia, I’ve lived, studied, and worked in Norway, Austria, and Australia—experiences that have shaped me into an adaptable and open-minded person. I’m a mother to a lively three-year-old boy and married to a wonderful Norwegian.

Professionally, I’m in the process of a career shift from over 10 years of focusing on finance operations and digital transformation into commercial transformation and business development. I’ve built a career around connecting people, technology, and processes to drive change and deliver value.

I believe in finding balance—not necessarily "work-life balance," as work has always been a significant source of energy for me, but a “life balance” that shifts depending on my current interests and what’s happening in my personal life. I’m constantly in search of that “happy place” between family, friends, work, and passions like audiobooks and exploring new places. Joining the PWN Oslo Board is an exciting new chapter, and I look forward to discovering a new balance once again.
