PWN Nice-Côte d'Azur: Successful Global Virtual Business Expo

PWN Nice-Cote d’Azur was delighted to welcome people to its Virtual Business Expo at the start of October 2021.

If you missed it, check out the recording of the session.

The French Riviera has a fantastic image as a tourism destination, but it offers so much more in terms of economical activity - from Travel and Hospitality in Nice, Cannes and Principality of Monaco, to IT and Artificial Intelligence Clusters in Sophia Antipolis, a.k.a., the European Silicon Valley.

Our goal for this Expo was to build understanding amongst our local and global communities, by presenting the diversity of this dynamic, highly competitive , international economic player. The Expo was educational and extremely relevant to our area, and our PWN members. The event aimed to create networking and business development opportunities in order to increase PWN the attractiveness to potential sponsors and partners.

Every year, we are happy to share our vision of female professional empowerment by offering a networking place for our members to learn and network with significant keynote speakers from a range of corporate and entrepreneurial backgrounds.

The event was structured with a fast paced and effective virtual format that combined excellent expert keynote speakers and panellists, interwoven with questions from the audience.

We started with Sabrina Andiappane, a young woman leader and TEDx speaker from Thales Alenia Space, who fascinated us with the challenges of hybrid communications on Earth and in Space.

Then we covered the three pillars that were of most relevance to our audience:

  • Reinventing Travel

This panel session hosted by Christophe Defayet from Amadeus included a varied range of interesting panelists:   Carole Fracchia of JW Marriott in Cannes, Menno Meyer, Phenix Events, and Rosine Allené, Air France

  • Reviving the Entrepreneurial Journey

This session was led with keynote speaker Marcel Dridje of the European Business Angels Network. Marcel was joined by panelists from our EDHEC Business School partner: incubation specialists Soumaya Ben Beya, Sylvain Pagès, and local experienced Entrepreneurs Antonia Beauvoisin-Brown and Jill Blumenfeld

  • Re-thinking Leadership Development

Victor Perton from The Center for Optimism was the keynote speaker here with his trademark Optimism! Supported by PWN Nice Board member, Amanda Noz and former PWN Global President and now CEO of Potentia Talent Consultants, Robert Baker.

If you'd like to here the ket take-aways from the sessions, please check ou the recording of the  panel sessions.

With this virtual event, we used Zoom to deliver live and recorded to cater to a global audience. To give an idea of the commitment and enthusiasm for this event, one of our keynote speakers, Victor Perton, from the Centre for Optimism in Australia, got up at 3:30am to energize and delight our audience! The following day, we were delighted to receive enthusiastic e-mails from from people in Australia who had already watched the playback.

Overall, 150 people registered for the event, demonstrating the power of what women working together can achieve. Our all-volunteer team put together a professional and high-level event that attracted a global audience, senior industry, entrepreneurial and leadership speakers with members and non-members.

The PWN Nice Cote’d’Azur board would like to thank everyone who contributed to make this a success and we invite you our future events. Next year is our 20th anniversary and we are planning for an even bigger in-person event.

PWN Nice-Côte d'Azur regularly hosts virtual events, such as this, where we welcome people from around the workld, and, in-person events that anyone is welcome to attend when visiting the Côte d’Azur. If you would like to join our network, don’t hesitate to contact our membership team
