PWN Dublin: Group Mentoring Launch 2023

PWN Dublin was delighted, last week, to launch its annual Group Mentoring Programme at the beautiful Clayton Hotel in central Dublin with the over-arching theme of "Lead Into Your Future Career".

Their guest speaker was non other than Katie Mullen, Captain of Ireland's Women's National Hockey Team.

Katie, a woman who had benefited from the power of mentoring throughout her sporting career, was a fantastic keynote speaker to launch the PWN Dublin Mentoring Programme. Her story is truly inspirational - in August 2018 she led her country to sporting history, leading the first-ever Irish team, male or female/in any sport, to reach a World Cup Final.

She subsequently went on to represent Ireland at the 2021 Olympic games in Tokyo, Japan. Katie, who is from Co Derry, is an inspirational leader whose attitude, dedication and determination has already enabled a generation of young Irish women to push their limits and achieve success. Since graduating in 2018 with an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from UCD, Dublin, Katie has worked in a number of roles within the engineering sector. Currently she is an MBA student in Trinity College Dublin, while continuing to pursue her international hockey career. In the future, Katie hopes to play a role enabling business organisations to achieve their goals, drawing on her experience as a leader in the world of sport.

PWN Dublin has been running it's Group Mentoring Programme for over three years - the past two years of Covid confinements, they showed great agility in flipping to online group sessions to keep the momentum going.

In 2023, the Programme will be a blended-learning set up where mentors will offer a selection on online and in-person sessions.

As in previous years, the PWN Dublin Group Mentoring Programme is a selection of 10 differently themed mentor groups - you can check out the sessions and the mentors for 2023, here

Marie Coleman and Ian Headon, Co-VPs MentoringParticipants are encouraged to select their top three groups in order of preference, and once all applications are in, Co-VPs of Mentoring at PWN Dublin, Marie Coleman and Ian Headon, work to match the candidates to their respective groups.

Applications close on 28th January 2023, so there are just a few days left to get your application in. Remember, in order to apply for the programme, you need to be a member of a PWN city network and able to attend all 6 sessions in the groups that you choose.
