PWN Barcelona: Celebrates its second year at 4YFN

PWN Barcelona loves the vibrancy and dynamicism of this event!  And, networking at 4YFN starts even before you get there, thanks to the 4YFNetwork App.  There’s a built-in match making system for more suited connections.  It’s the perfect tool to make the most of your time and pre-arrange meetings.  After all, 4YFN is three full days packed with events, workshops, booth visits and more.

4YFN passes also allow those who visit 4YFN to utilize their pass to enter in the Mobile World Congress on the last day.

After her visit to 4YFN/MWC, Irene Compte, PWN Barcelona member commented:  "I learnt that technology truly opens opportunities for almost any kind of business/sector, since I could learn about a variety of projects from health to gaming."

Why is it so important to ensure that women have access to technology? Marga Martinez, PWN Barcelona member responds:  "In my opinion, technology offers the flexibility many women need to conciliate work with other aspects of life. It is also immediate and handy when it comes to start a business. I think technology will promote equanimity and also provide equal chances to women in business. "

Events like Hack_D_Gap and Women4Tech support gender balance initiatives in the tech industry.  Hack_D_Gap is a global challenge aimed at startups and/or individuals eager to create innovative solutions, products or services that drive gender diversity and gender equality in the tech industry.

Melissa Grossman, PWN Barcelona member:  "It was amazing to cheer on fellow member Sandra Arevalo when she won the Hack_D_Gap award."

Leaning in and supporting our fellow members is an important part of PWN Barcelona.  So many of our members look to us for that support.

One of the PWN Global and PWN Barcelona pillars is networking.  Cris Kristofits, PWN Barcelona, VP Community Relations comments:  "Last year, at 4YFN I spent an hour talking to the founders of Safe to Net.  We stayed connected by email.  I had learned about a global challenged through DLab about fighting cyber bullying.  I reached out to my new friends and encouraged them to apply…and they won the challenge!  The next DLab challenge is about Women and Tech".  Learn more at: https://d-lab.tech/women-in-tech/
