PWN Global Newsletter Q3 2024

We wish you all a very happy Summer break!

Dear members, dear friends, and dear supporters of the PWN community,

Summer break is finally upon us and we're in an Olympic year! Indeed, the Olympics is on its way to PWN Global's founding city, Paris  - and this infograph made us smile this morning:

Equality at the Olympics

We'd like to give a great big shout out to all the female athletes who are making gender-balance a reality in the sporting arena, and inspiring the next generation. Shine bright ladies, we salute you all!

And, while on a congratulatory note, we'd like to take a moment to introduce and welcome some changes to the leadership in our city networks. The past few months have seen many presediential mandates come to an end and new ones begin. We'd like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our outgoing city network Presidents, and a big welcome to the new and re-elected city network Presidents, including:

Action Plan for 2024 - Expand, Impact, Innovate

We are now into the second year of our presidential mandate, and our Board team is firmly established with great enthusiasm and ambition. At our recent AGM, we presented our action plan for the remainder of our mandate, and we are motivated to deliver impact. The key words around the action plan are Expand, Impact and Innovate, and to that end, here's what we're seeking to do:

  • Continue to drive membership by building existing city networks and opening new networks in strategically important locations around the world.
  • Strengthen our global offer with the Women on Boards Circle, Women in Leadership and International Mentoring Programmes
  • Continue to advance our corporate partnerships to build financial stability
  • Build an alternative revenue stream via innovative approaches to fundraising

There is much to do! Remember, PWN is a volunteer-led organisation. We can only achieve our ambitious goals with the valued investment from our corporate partners, and YOU, our PWN community. Finding suitable volunteers to help deliver our vision is key to the success of the organisation. You will see below a range of volunteer roles that are available, and we'd love to hear from you if you are able to help. Our mantra remains firm - growing stronger, TOGETHER.

The New Platform is Well Under Way! Be ready for some big changes in October!

We are currently hard at work preparing the new platform and creating a mobile app - but concretely, what does this mean for you?

The new platform we have chosen is going to lead to a complete revamp of all our public-facing websites around the world, to strengthen our brand cohesiveness and visibility; on the membership side of things, we are cretaing an even more sophisticated community-driven environment. This will make it easier for you to: pick and choose the content and themes that you see; easily network thanks to our newly developed App; tailor the people and groups that you want to engage with; and easily book events that will generate a diary invite!!!

We believe that this new platform underpins our network's existence and will enable us to drive our visibility, and welcome more new members and partners from around the world. Ultimately it's a vital enabler to speeding up the advancement of gender-balanced leadership.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter. If you like the stories we have shared, please feel free to share it with your own networks to help spread the word about the work of PWN Global and the PWN city networks.

Warmest regards from your dedicated Presidents

Virginia and Nadine
