PWN Global Newsletter Q2 2019
Dear PWN
Community,
We are coming to the end of our 'Nominations'
interviews - this is the time of year when we invite our experienced
volunteers to consider stepping up to the PWN Global Board.
This is an exceptional year, in as much as
several of our PWN Global Board members are reaching the end of their
second and third terms in office, which means our bylaws require them
to step down from their roles.
For any of you who have ever had the pleasure of
meeting Sonya Richardson, and/or Rob Baker, our current Co-presidents,
you will probably be sad to learn that they will be stepping down at
the end of May to make way for new leadership of the network.
During their tenure, Sonya and Rob have worked
tirelessly in promoting the work of PWN Global - gracing some if the
most important world stages in the gender balanced leadership
environment, including Women's Forum, WIL Economic Forum, WebIT,
Horasis Global Meeting, Inclusion 19, Simmons Leadership, and the WIL
conference - to name but a few.
During their time with the network, they started
by giving their visionary thought leadership on working to engage
more men to be able to speak out on gender balanced leadership. They
will leave us with their legacy of a better understanding on the
currect topic of how the digital era is flattening the playing field
for women.
Sonya and Rob leave their posts knowing that they
have been able to capitalise on the work completed by our prior
esteemed Presidents, in making a bigger and stronger network, with a
much louder voice!!
We thank them enormously for their continued
energy and commitment and know that they will continue to support us
in the forthcoming months as they help establish an alumni of past
Presidents and launch our PWN Global Gender Balanced Leadership Awards
later on this year (keep an eye out for more information on this
event!).
To Sonya, Rob and all of the PWN Global
Federation Board members who step down at the end of May, we salute
you!
We thought it would be fun to have PWN Global's
former President, Marijo Bos, interview Sonya and Rob on what it has
been like to lead an international network. Click on the image below
to activate the video.
To you, our PWN community, we will be in
touch at the start of July to introduce you to our new Board
members.
One of the most important legacies that Sonya and
Rob leave us with is the creation of a Network Strategy Team. This is
a working
group that is committed to supporting the delivery of our operational
plans in line with our strategic goals. One of the threads of work
in our Network Strategy Team is the 'Gender Stereotypes' - and in this
edition of our newsletter, we're seeking your support to respond to a
survey to help us define this project to have maximum impact in the
wider world.
Please scroll down to the Research section if you
have 4 minutes to spare and help make a real difference!
Enjoy this edition and please remember to forward
it to your friends and colleagues who you think will enjoy it
too.
