PWN Global Newsletter Q1 2024

New year, exciting new offers

Dear members and supporters of the PWN community,

2024 is upon us and we're excited to start with so many great plans afoot.

In just the first quarter of 2024 we have many great things to report on: the launch of our International Mentoring Programme; progress on our Women on Boards Programme; a great selection of leadership and development webinars; and, the PWN Global Summit.

There are two things that are critical to our success....

Our Technology

We are a collection of local networks that are able to collaborate thanks to the technology platforms we use. We realise that our once state-of-the-art website and member platform is ready for an overhaul. we want to provide you with the best user experience possible so that you can benefit from everything we have to offer in an easy, hassle-free environment.

We have a team that is currently working to build, test, and roll out our new website, member platform, and app in 2024.

This is a big job to undertake in a fully resourced corporate organisation, so imagine the complexity of such a project in a multi-city, multi-currency operating model, supported by volunteers? And yet, we're doing it - and doing on time and to budget! Stay tuned for the first screen shots showing what you have to look forward to.

Our Volunteers

2023 was an election year for PWN Global. We were re-elected as your co-Presidents, and have been delighted to get to know the new Board members, all of whom have bought a fresh perspective to our thinking and this two-year mandate.

Each of our new Board members has been working hard to build a volunteer team around their functional areas, and our Volunteer push at the end of 2023 reaped some great rewards. Learn more about the volunteer talent that has joined us for this exciting phase of PWN Global development.

World Economic Forum 2024 in Davos

As always, at this time of year, the world's great and good (and some not so good) descend on the picturesque ski resort that is Davos. It's estimated that attending the WEF costs an eye-watering expense of around €40,000 - so unfortunately, we're not there! However, we are delighted that Gender Equality remains high on their list of discussion points. Check out het link down below that gives you all the latest on the discussion point of gender inequality.

Finally....

Registrations for the PWN Global Summit (Strasbourg) 2024, have hit the ground running. We already have over 100 sign ups to join us in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on International Women's Day (8th March 2024). The importance of this event is illustrated by the building in which it will be held and we sincerely hope that as many of you as possible make the journey to join us (everybody is welcome - members and non-members, women and men).

The Summit will be a true cornerstone in the history of our network and something that our entire community can be proud to be part of. To accommodate as many people as possible, we have been able to extend our Early Bird offer until midnight on 21st January. After this date, ticket prices will increase - so if you've been waivering, there's no time like the present to make the committment to attend.

We were interviewed by a member of the hard-working Summit Team, on our aspirations for the event - you can read more in the article below.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter. If you like the stories we have shared, please feel free to share it with your own networks to help spread the word about the work of PWN Global and the PWN city networks.

Warmest regards from your dedicated Presidents

Virginia and Nadine
