Extensive research shows that equitable societies are happier for everyone, regardless of gender. We also know that organisations with diverse workforces and inclusive cultures experience higher levels of employee engagement and enable all their talent to thrive, as long as there is psychological safety to do so.
However, the prevalence and impact of stereotypes in our societies and in our organisations can restrict our freedom to be our true selves and stop us from achieving diversity, equity and true inclusion. There is no doubt that girls and women face many traditional stereotypes which can hold them back: they should not be assertive; they should be thin and beautiful to appeal to men; they do not make good leaders; and, they should pursue motherhood rather than careers; etc.
However boys and men also face stereotypes: they must be the breadwinners; they don’t cry; you’re weak if you care; aggression is an acceptable response; and, men don’t have the emotional capacities women possess; etc.
Breaking stereotypical thinking creates a massive opportunity for ALL genders. As Gloria Steinem remarked: “Once men realize that the gender roles are a prison for them too, then they become really valuable allies. Because they’re not just helping someone else, they’re freeing themselves”.
This webinar will explore the issues caused by stereotypes and will provide solutions to how we can Shatter them! Join us to learn how this can happen so that ALL genders can benefit.

Companies are reorganizing and restructuring. Costs are being controlled more tightly and with climate change, pandemic aftershocks and conflict all around us there is a general air of uncertainty.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics are radically re-shaping the world of work and 2023 is seen by many as a year of major transition. By the end of this year some traditional lines will be blurred and you will find yourself interacting more and more with AI. You will ask questions and receive replies from voices on the telephone which do not belong to flesh and blood humans. Some human jobs will, for sure, continue to be replaced by automation.
Yet it is not all doom and gloom. There are still opportunities to be grasped. There are attributes that we humans posses, which (at least for the foreseeable future) cannot be replicated. That said, we will need to work with the changing technologies, not resist them.
During this brief session Dr Keith Amoss shares some facts about the world of work now - and some predictions for the future - as well giving a few practical tips on how best to move your career forward.
Times are changing. You need to be ready

Login to view full webinarThe European Commission, Council and Parliament have reached political agreement on the draft legislation to ensure gender parity on the boards of publicly listed companies in the EU: the 'Women on Boards Directive'.
Under this agreement, in-scope companies will be required to achieve a target of 40% of non-executive director positions, or 33% for all board positions, to be allocated to the under-represented sex by 30 June 2026. The draft Directive provides for penalties to be implemented in the event of non-compliance.
This is a recording of a webinar during which a member of the European Commission Cabinet for Equality and a panel of experts will discuss the draft legislation, examine how companies and governments will look at implementation, and consider the impact on companies and their culture and strategies, as well as the wider social impact.
Given this legislation is of significant importance, we are making this webinar recording open to all of the PWN community. Click here to watch the full recording.
